Beat The Heat...

Even though we've had a cool, wet spring and summer so far, at some point we will get some hot weather. Quit rolling your eyes sceptics, you know it will come.

Retractable scissor gates are a good alternative to window bars. We make them in various sizes with a minimum height requirement of 3ft. They can be pulled across to one side or locked in the middle, your choice. When collapsed, they are not noticible and can hide behind a curtain.

They are the absolutely the best solution to guard against entry thru unlocked patio doors too. Enjoy the summer heat with your windows wide open.

A Fowl Theft

We wondered about this when we read it in the Abbotsford News. Why would anyone steal 365 pigeons?

It turns out they were mostly fancy pigeons and worth $60 to $100 each.  We say that's a pretty fancy haul!

The guy who got caught faces a whopping 60 days in jail. He also pleaded guilty to a previous charge of driving while prohibited, and still faces charges of tresspassing and theft in Maple Ridge.

Police are investigating a rash of poultry and livestock thefts in the area since last fall.

So, Valley residents not only do you have to lock up your goats but you also need to keep an eye out for fancy pigeons and maybe your chickens too.
